Irish Americans

Susan Ann was born in 1811 in New Jersey.1 She married in 1838.2 The 1880 census says her father was born in Ireland.1 She died in 1895, and she was buried in Pennsylvania.3

Her daughter, Frances Leonore Martin, was born in 1841 in N.J.4 She married in 1858 in Pa.5 She was widowed in 1900.4 She died in 1928, and she was buried in Pa.6

A Cornish Convict in Colonial Australia

Today is Australia Day, so here is some information about my Australian ancestress.

Honor Polkinghorne was baptized on 28 December 1806 in Phillack, Cornwall.1 She married Thomas Tremelling on 24 May 1828 in Phillack.2 She was widowed in 1836.3 She was on trial on 30 December 1846 in Penzance, Cornwall.4 She was given a seven-year sentence for stealing money.5 She was transferred to Millbank Prison in London, England on 22 January 1847.4

Wisconsin

We will be in Wisconsin from May 31 to June 6. We are going there to visit friends and to research our ancestry. Our focus will be the surnames Garlick and Mellor. We are also interested in the local Cornish heritage.
